Captain America at Friv classic is a main protagonist who appears in Marvel Comics' American comic book characters. The character was invented by cartoonists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby and debuted in Captain America Comics #1 (March 1941) from Timely Comics, a forerunner of Marvel Comics. Captain America was created as a national pride supersoldier who frequently volunteered to fight the Axis powers of World War II, and he was Timely Comics' most popular character in during war. Following the war, the popularity of superheroes declined, and the Captain America comic book was discontinued in 1950, with a brief revival in 1953. Captain America has been in print since Marvel Comics resurrected the character in 1964.
